Before SOPA or PIPA, There Was ACTA

UPDATE 7/4/12: Thanks to our counterparts across the pond, who voted not to ratify it, ACTA is now effectively dead in the water!

It all makes more sense now. The US co-created ACTA with Japan back in 2006, and ever since, we’ve had bad copyright/censorship legislation which led to PIPA on May 12th. Then the US actually signed the ACTA Treaty Oct 1st and SOPA was drafted by Congress Oct 26th. Global governance erodes national sovereignty.
